Flight Check
Flight Check is the canonical way to prove the device, force direction, safety system, and aircraft effects before flying.


Each test owns its setup
You do not need to change Hardware or Tuning first. Flight Check applies the known temporary values required by the selected test, then restores the previous state.
- Your physical strength ceiling and safety limits always remain in force.
- The selected profile, gains, friction, damping, and other temporary values return when the test ends.
- The Demo source supplies repeatable telemetry, so no simulator or aircraft profile is required.
Tests run from an in-memory canonical setup instead of borrowing the active profile. The physical ceiling, axis polarity, reported device capabilities, and explicit button or hat assignments remain in force.
Start with the individual checks
Confirm device movement, spring, damping, friction, buttons, and Safety Stop one at a time. Keep hands clear when a test describes commanded movement.
The friction check uses a known 100% effect request while the physical ceiling still limits output, and is omitted when the device has no native friction renderer. Cyclic-damper calibration is temporarily normalized only for checks that need it and is never saved.
Direction checks catch reversed forces
Pitch and roll checks describe the expected physical direction. Report whether that motion actually occurred. Only an observed movement in the opposite direction supports a polarity change; weak or absent movement needs further diagnosis. Correct simulator input direction and correct force direction are separate checks.
Flight Check waits for force output to be ready before starting one-shot cues. A weak or absent pitch response is no longer treated as proof of reversed polarity. Change axis direction only after observing movement in the opposite direction.


Guided airplane flight
The compressed airplane sequence moves from ground roll through takeoff, cruise, trim, stall, landing, and shutdown so the major fixed-wing cues can be felt in context.


Guided helicopter flight
The helicopter sequence combines cyclic damping, force trim, beep trim, rotor vibration, ETL, VRS, retreating-blade stall, and skid contact in one repeatable bench flight.


Prove Safety Stop deliberately
Safety Stop exercises the real gain-zero, STOPALL, safety latch, optional voice alert when enabled, and explicit re-arm path with a controlled trigger; it does not ask you to provoke runaway motion.
Finish with an actionable result
Flight Check records pass, review, and skipped states and explains the next action. Re-run only the failed item after making a correction.


Run Flight Check only on the bench
Do not run guided force tests during a live flight. Centre the control, secure the base, keep loose objects clear, and stay ready to disarm.
