Profile History

Pro keeps the previous version of a saved profile each time you save over it. If an evening of tuning makes your favourite C172 profile worse, you can go back to the version you flew last week.

When Pro keeps a version

Before a saved profile is overwritten, Pro copies the old file into its history. The label on each entry tells you what replaced it:

LabelSaved over by
Tuning saveSave on the Tuning or Advanced Tuning page.
Cockpit saveA save from Cockpit Web, Voice Control or the Live Dashboard.
Before online updateAn update from the Profile Library.
Before restoreA restore from this page.

A new profile has nothing earlier to keep, so its history starts with the second save. Saving a built-in starter creates a new profile, and that copy's history starts the next time you save over it.

Find a version

  1. Open Library in the sidebar and click History.
  2. Under Profiles, select the profile. The number beside each name is how many versions Pro has kept.
  3. Read the list on the right. Versions are grouped by day, newest first, with the label, the time and the revision number.

Click Refresh if you saved the profile while this page was open.

Compare versions

Select a version in the list. The panel on the right lists every force setting where your saved profile and that version differ, with your current value first.

To compare two older versions with each other, click Compare two…, choose one under Older and one under Newer, and click Compare. Click Close when you are done.

If the comparison says the force settings are unchanged, the two versions differ at most in the profile's name, notes or other details.

Restore a version

  1. Click Restore… on the version you want.
  2. Read the question: it names the version's date and time and the profile it goes back into.
  3. Click Restore, or Cancel to leave everything as it is.

Pro saves the current file as a Before restore entry first. If the older version is not what you remembered, restore that entry to undo.

If you are flying with the profile you restore, Pro disarms your stick first, then loads the restored settings. It does not arm again, so arm in the desktop app when you are ready. Restoring any other profile changes only its file.

Where history is kept

History stays on this computer, in a folder named .history inside your Pro profile folder:

  • Windows: %APPDATA%\ffb-bridge-pro\profiles\.history
  • macOS and Linux: ~/.config/ffb-bridge-pro/profiles/.history

Each computer keeps its own history, and it covers Pro profiles only. History is not a backup of your computer: if the disk fails, the history goes with it. To keep copies somewhere else, use Profile Recovery or include the profile folder in your normal backups.

Problems

ProblemWhat to do
"No rollback points yet"Nothing has saved over this profile since it was created. The first entry appears the next time you save over it.
"No saved profile selected" or "No profiles"Built-in starters have no history. Save your settings as your own profile on the Tuning page, then save over it as you tune.
"Profile History is locked"Open Pro License and activate or refresh your license.
A renamed profile shows no earlier versionsHistory follows the profile's file name. Versions kept before the rename are not listed, and new saves start a new list.
"Restore stopped because force output could not be confirmed disarmed"Pro could not confirm the stick was disarmed, so it left the profile unchanged. Disarm in the desktop app and try again.
"This history snapshot is missing or damaged"Choose another version. The damaged one cannot be restored.
