About FFB-Bridge

Built to feel the airplane again

FFB-Bridge started with one SideWinder in a drawer. It is now a force-feedback engine for MSFS and X-Plane on Windows, Linux and macOS, published by Rohsam Inc. FFB-Bridge is free to download, and FFB-Bridge Pro adds the full toolset for pilots who want it.

The force engine

Forces calculated from the aircraft you are flying

Every force FFB-Bridge sends is calculated from the simulator's live state, shaped by a profile for that aircraft and fitted to what your base can do safely.

A force model driven by live telemetry

Centering stiffens with airspeed and G, trim moves where the stick settles, the autopilot can move the stick, and buffets, rumble and touchdowns arrive when the aircraft meets them. Every channel comes from what MSFS or X-Plane reports, many times a second.

  • MSFS over SimConnect and X-Plane over UDP, with no plugins to install
  • One force path from simulator to stick
  • Forces off and the base's own centering restored at every Disarm

Profiles grounded in published data

The built-in profiles start from published sources: speed gates from each type's operating handbook, control feel from published flight reports and pilot accounts, and rotor speed and blade count from type certificate data sheets. Sources are recorded with the profiles they shaped.

  • Stall, VNE and Mach onset from operating handbooks
  • Control feel from published flight reports
  • Sourced rotor data for 94 helicopters

Each base driven the way it works best

FFB-Bridge talks to each force-feedback base directly and hands it back exactly as it found it. Opening the app changes nothing on the stick, and forces start only when you Arm.

  • Raw HID force commands on Windows and macOS
  • MOZA base settings journaled and restored exactly
  • Brunner bases on their own CAN engines in FFB-Bridge Pro

The developer

Built by a simmer, for simmers.

FFB-Bridge is written by Aditya Nag, a long-time flight simmer who missed how good force feedback used to feel and still had a Microsoft SideWinder Force Feedback 2 in a drawer. He built the bridge to make it fly again in MSFS and X-Plane, then kept going: more hardware, more aircraft, three operating systems and FFB-Bridge Pro.
