I’ve just launched AirframeDB at https://AirframeDB.com, a free aircraft reference for simmers and developers. It brings together aircraft background, systems information and the versions we fly in Microsoft Flight Simulator and X-Plane. There are currently 159 aircraft profiles across the two simulator families, with more to come.
As you know, I started building FFB-Bridge a few months ago, and as its features grew, so did the research behind it. First I needed to understand the differences between the sims. Then the aircraft included with them. Then third-party aircraft, custom integrations… and so on. Many of us have exchanged emails about so many third party planes..
That meant researching the real aircraft, how developers modelled it in the sim, and what real-world pilots had to say about it. Over time, the collection grew into something I thought could be useful to the wider simming community.

Explore real-world and simulator information together: read about an aircraft’s history and systems alongside its different simulator versions.

Find resources in one place: follow links to developer manuals, real-aircraft documentation, pilot accounts and other sources. -
Browse, discover and compare: find familiar aircraft, explore something new, or compare entries side by side. -
Research aircraft and systems: explore information useful to simmers and developers, including documented interfaces.
The aim is to build a living, growing catalogue covering aircraft included with the simulators and third-party add-ons. It starts with Microsoft Flight Simulator and X-Plane, with room to expand into other sims.
I’ve started with developers whose work I personally rate highly, and I’m applying editorial judgement as I add more third-party aircraft. I’m open to suggestions if I’ve missed your favourite developer.
This is the initial release. Some aircraft have more detailed coverage than others, and I’ll keep expanding the catalogue and the resources behind each entry. Support for additional languages is also planned.
