I've just started using this software and trying to get a feel for it. I think it does a lot of things better than the Moza software. Looking great so far.

One thing I don't understand is why the yoke movement is limited when the autopilot is engaged? I'm flying the Cessna Caravan and the yoke should follow the full movements of the in-sim yoke. The movement is barely noticeable.

Why is that?

In beta 14, this limit is raised to 50 % - https://ffb-bridge.com/beta

It has to be somewhat limited because otherwise, MSFS reads the movement and that disables Autopilot. It goes like this

AP ON -> Yoke moves past a certain threshhold -> MSFS sees movement and thinks use moved it -> AP OFF

If I want to prevent this, I need to take over the joystick completely, and present a virtual joystick to MSFS. And that requires other things (hardware driver certification, for one).

However, the current 8% limit is too tight. 50% in the latest beta gives you plenty of options in different plans to dial it in just right - just below the threshold where MSFS decides to disable AP. Try it out and tell me if this is better

I tested this out. Thank you for making the change. Unfortunately, it's not really usable. Now, the yoke will turn in the correct direction with a good amount of travel, but the in-sim yoke turns in the other direction, and the plane goes into a spin and crashes.

Interesting that it goes opposite - can you submit a support bundle? This feels like an inversion issue, which is usually easy to fix.

I'm using the Moza AY210.

Note, this only happens in flight. On the ground, the Moza and in-sim yoke are in sync.

What do I need to do to submit a support bundle?

50% is the ceiling of the range, not a recommended setting — the usable value is the highest one that doesn't disturb the AP's flying. On the Caravan I'd start around 10–15% and walk it up until you see the in-sim yoke start to react, then back off.

A support bundle would still help me confirm from the logs: in FFB-Bridge go to Support → Diagnostics → Export support bundle, save the zip, then submit it with a short description at https://ffb-bridge.com/feedback (the Diagnostics page has a button that takes you there). Do that after you replicated the behaviour in sim, but before you quit FFB-Bridge.

Mention "AY210 AP Follow" so I can match it to this thread.

Thanks. I uploaded the support bundle with the authority set to 20%, but it seems like anything above 8% causes the issue. At least on the Cessna Caravan. This is with the 1.4 beta 2.

I don't understand how all of these systems work together, so this might be a dumb question, but is it not possible to use the position of the yoke in the aircraft to drive the Moza yoke position? I wonder how the cockpit software is doing it without fighting the sim's AP?

In X-Plane, it works that way. In MSFS, it's been improved now. Try 1.4 stable.

MSFS cannot work like X-Plane unless I create a new joystick driver and totally take over the joystick. And then MSFS sees a virtual joystick.

So for now, this is about as good as I can make it. For now.

Hey there Dev! Chiming in here. Great product so far!

Ever since you implemented the Moza's inertia, friction, and damper into play I no longer am going back to Moza Cockpit.

Honestly, everything has been so much better than Moza's but there's only one catch here, personally, the autopilot. It would be nice if you're able to implement the AP follow function the same way Moza is implementing theirs. When you enable AP with Moza, the stick just becomes rock solid and completely following the yoke/stick 1:1 yet you can still break out of it. Small movements don't really affect the aircraft too if the AP is on, until you manually force it out.

Have you been able to decipher what Moza is doing with their own AP? Or are they using something proprietary to accomplish this? Not really an expert in this, just suggesting. I'm using AB9 base, by the way.

Yup, I have been able to. Moza is sending special commands to their base that effectively cancel out the double input issue. I can mimic that.. but I understand that Moza is apparently going to release an SDK that should make this much easier.

So just wait a bit and this should be sorted on Moza devices.

First off, thank you for all the hard work! Daily beta updates are seriously impressive, especially since this is free (and yes, I've chipped in what I could).

I was genuinely thrilled when beta 13 dropped with autopilot support last night, and I jumped on it right away. I can feel the autopilot holding the stick more firmly now, which is real progress. That said, it's not quite at the same level as Moza's implementation. I've set the strength to maximum, and while it's noticeably firmer than previous releases, I'm not sure if I'm missing a configuration setting somewhere or if this is just where the feature currently stands.

For reference, the closest comparison I can offer is how Moza handles the F-16. It feels like a true dead-stick setup that senses force input rather than yielding to it.

Sorry if this comes across as a complaint. It's not meant to be. Just trying to share feedback that might help in whatever way I can.

Yes, Moza does things with their bases that are more than standard FFB. I can replicate that by figuring out the serial protocol - but since I know that Moza is due to release an SDK, I’m waiting for that. So wait a while, if Moza does not release it I’ll look into doing it the longer way around.

Hi! Thanks for the continuous updates. I have a MOZA AB6 with MSFS 2024. Sorry, AP its not working for me as advertised in last beta. At the contrary, i.e. HDG + AP MASTER ON, I set AP turn to 180º and when the AP takes control, the yoke in the sim does not move at all, and neither my joystick moves, except a slight strange vibration at the beginning of setting AP.

Just in case, after testing different GA aircraft, different profiles, different AP settings, I closed the sim, loaded MOZA "neutral" profile (as we did on previous FFBB versions), and tried again, but I got same results. I´m not sure if I understood the beta notes right, but I thought that, when I turned AP on, I will see the yoke turning left and right in the sim, and my joystick moving the same directions in real time. I´m using default settings and profiles to make sure is not something wrong on my saved profiles from previous betas. The rest of the effects are working great. Helicopters trim is perfect too now. Its only this new AP behavior. I will test X-Plane 12 after late today, to see if is happening the same AP effect. Thanks!

Could you send in a support bundle? I don't have an AB6 to test, and I know there's something about it that's a bit different.

Please replicate the issue first, then without quitting FFB-Bridge, generate the support bundle. It will then carry all the info I need to diagnose and fix this.

Great, glad to know it's working well - and it works cross-platform, should be working exactly like this in Linux and MacOS as well.

What plane are you flying? If the on-screen yoke is not moving, then FFB-Bridge won't move either. Does this plane normally move the yoke while flying on AP (say with FFB-Bridge not enabled at all?)

For a good list, I asked ChatGPT which aircraft should move the yoke with AP ON in MSFS 2024 and in real life, and I tested some of them again. I tried most of them this morning, when I wrote here, but I did it again with the new beta. Same results.
