Hi. After a week with my AB6 with the moza cockpick software I decided to start testing with ffb-bridge, hoping to learn to make presets, this is my initial impression. Not going to lie. I was being assisted by chatgpt as I changed values it created a good report of my fist issue. I dont think this is just helicopter related but also on airplanes, I wonder if you have a similar experience with the AB9, well I let chatgpt to write for me lol.

First of all, thank you for all the work on FFB-Bridge. I know the project originally started as a way of bringing older Microsoft/Logitech FFB hardware back to life, and support for modern direct-drive bases like the MOZA AB6/AB9 is relatively recent. Because of that, I thought I'd share some feedback from the perspective of an AB6 user in case it's useful.

I've been testing the Bell 206 starter profile extensively and, overall, I think it's a really good starting point. However, I've noticed one behaviour that I haven't been able to pin down.

When making very slow, tiny cyclic inputs (particularly while hovering), I consistently feel a small transition when crossing the physical centre of the stick. I wouldn't describe it as a click or a hard detent. It's more like a tiny breakout force: if I'm barely "caressing" the cyclic left and right with my fingertips, I can feel my fingers bend slightly before the stick starts moving across the centre. It's most noticeable on the X axis, although I can also feel it on Y.

What makes this interesting is the testing I've done:

It is still perceptible with the AB6 hardware FFB output set to 0%. Disabling Motor Rumble and Two Per Rev makes the overall cyclic feel much smoother, but the centre transition itself remains. Reducing or increasing the hardware FFB strength doesn't seem to meaningfully change the behaviour—it simply stays there.

Because of that, I'm not convinced it's caused directly by the Bell 206 profile itself.

The reason I'm mentioning it is that, once engine and rotor rumble are enabled again, this centre transition interacts with those effects. During a stationary hover, making constant tiny corrections, I sometimes find myself almost unconsciously letting the rotor vibration "carry" the stick across that transition because it feels smoother than pushing through it directly.

The overall sensation isn't that the vibration effects are bad—quite the opposite, I like them—but the combination makes the cyclic feel a little rough or dirty, rather than one continuous smooth movement.

For comparison, I don't experience the same sensation with my favourite MOZA Cockpit preset, where the cyclic feels continuously smooth throughout its travel.

I'm not saying this is necessarily a bug. It may simply be an interaction between FFB-Bridge and the AB6, or even an AB6 characteristic that the native MOZA software smooths over.

If you have access to an AB9, I'd be very interested to know whether you can reproduce anything similar, or whether this is something specific to the AB6.

In any case, thanks again for the work you've put into FFB-Bridge. Supporting modern direct-drive hardware is a really exciting direction for the project, and I hope this feedback is useful.

day and night!!!! im very impressed. I cant feel that weird detent that crossed the axis and rotor rumble feels more in sync. I think it has reached if not surpassed the Moza Cockpit community preset I was using for the 206. Congratulations! But its Its too late so only had a short flight. Tomorrow ill keep testing!

Ah great to hear! I don't have an AB6 and this issue didn't show itself on my AB9, so I was fixing blind. Glad to know it's better.

I'll have an AB6 in a few weeks. Then this kind of issue shouldn't happen again, and I can make it even better.,
