FFB-Bridge 1.6 Beta is here — 703 aircraft profiles and proper MSFS trim

FFB-Bridge 1.6 Beta is now available

The biggest change is a new library of 703 included aircraft profiles, covering default aircraft and popular add-ons from PMDG, Fenix, iniBuilds, A2A, Black Square, Just Flight, ToLiss, FlightFactor, Hot Start and many more. FFB-Bridge now does a much better job of recognizing the exact aircraft and variant you are flying and selecting the right profile automatically.

This release also brings proper pitch-trim behavior to supported MSFS aircraft when using traditional force-feedback sticks such as the Microsoft SideWinder FFB2. FFB-Bridge can take ownership of the pitch and roll inputs, compensate for the simulator’s trim movement, and provide the expected pressure relief without the aircraft pitching up or down simply because you adjusted trim.

The MSFS 2024 trim dataset now covers 54 aircraft families and 122 audited aircraft presets.

MOZA AY210 integration has also been expanded, with improved device setup, axis handling, response curves, torque behavior, discovery and arming.

There is also a new graphical force-curve editor. You can shape how pitch and roll resistance build as the controls move away from the trimmed centre, drag points directly on the graph, enter exact values, use presets and preview the response before applying it. Curves are saved per aircraft profile, so each aircraft can have its own control feel. Trim-dependent pitch curves can also make the controls become lighter or heavier as the aircraft’s trim position changes.

Getting help is much easier too. The new Report an Issue button creates and securely uploads a diagnostic bundle directly to support. You can then add a description and reply email in your browser—no more finding ZIP files or following a support-bundle video.

Ever since I first tried force feedback back in 2000-2001, the single biggest issue has always been getting the profile tuned.

As you know, my process for creating profiles to a reasonable level of quality seems to be working, I decide to cover ALL the planes I could possibly find across MSFS 20/24, XP 12. Why not?

I left expansion of XP 11 out for this run.

The list of planes is rather long (1000+ profiles now), and I’ll be building some sort of neat way to search and review (expanded AirframeDB.com most likely), so for now, just download the beta and look at the profile library to see if your favorite plane is in there.

I want this to be a a truly magical experience - install, and fly. Any plane. Any sim. Any OS! It should just work No need to look for a profile, tweak a profile or do anything at all. I’ve worked really hard to take care of a lot of complexity.. but if you want to access the complex tuning options, it’s all there.

FFB-Bridge 1.6.0-beta.24 — changes since beta.23

  • 588 additional profiles, bringing the total to 1,395. Substantially expanded coverage across MSFS 2020, MSFS 2024 and X-Plane 12, including more specialist aircraft, developer-specific implementations and distinct variants.

  • Deeper aircraft-specific profile tuning. Structured reviews of 941 aircraft-specific profiles cover control systems, trim, autopilot behaviour, equipment, operating speeds, simulator integration and force estimates. Settings account for differences such as spring-loaded controls, trim mechanisms, flap arrangements and retractable landing gear. Aircraft manuals and developer documentation inform the profiles; unsupported custom trim or autopilot functions remain disabled where reliable integration is unavailable. Force settings remain editable starting points for your hardware and preferences.

  • A substantial research foundation. Our internal database now totals approximately 15.6 GB. This profile expansion preserved 545 original source responses, including downloaded documents and captured web pages, totalling approximately 609 MB of original material. That includes 102 previously collected sources reused in this work. Original files, extracted text, source references and the reasoning behind profile settings are retained internally so profiles can be reviewed and improved as new information becomes available.

  • Fixed helicopter trim reversal on native spring devices, including Logitech G940. Hardware spring-centre reversal now applies correctly to the captured trim position and button/hat trim adjustments.

  • More forgiving cyclic-balance calibration. An abrupt initial stick release now allows another attempt at the same calibration point, with a fresh countdown and clearer release instructions. Existing force and movement limits remain.

  • Clearer simulator reconnect errors. When device restoration fails, Bridge now reports the failed operation and underlying device error to help identify the cause.

  • Added Rotorsim EC135 cyclic-neutral following. Bridge can follow supported aircraft trim targets independently of autopilot engagement, avoiding competing local force-trim commands and releasing following when telemetry becomes stale.
