I've been experimenting with the C172 starter profile. It feels good in flight, but the baseline spring feels too dominant during taxi. Reducing the spring makes the ground feel much more natural, but then the aerodynamic load becomes unbalanced and the controls want to run toward the stops. Is the spring intended to counterbalance the control-surface hinge loads? My first impression was that the force feedback polarity was wrong, as more aileron/elevator load made the stick to fall to the edges. But the test give a normal polarity.

Is there currently any way to make the spring depend more strongly on airspeed so the controls are looser on the ground while retaining the in-flight feel?

Have you tried the new 1.4 beta? I'm working on the profiles in this one, some pretty major changes (and one big new feature on the website.. coming soon)
