FFB-Bridge 1.5.1 released — Aircraft Library, MOZA AY90 support and improved trim

FFB-Bridge 1.5.1 Stable is now available for Windows, Linux and macOS (Apple Silicon).

This release brings AirframeDB into FFB-Bridge, adds hardware-tested MOZA AY90 support, expands MSFS 2024 trim compensation, and includes fixes for helicopter force trim, device detection and simulator connections.

Meet the aircraft you fly

I built AirframeDB as an aircraft reference for flight simulation, bringing together aircraft background, photographs, pilot accounts, manuals, videos and information about different simulator editions.

You can now explore that material directly inside FFB-Bridge.

Open Aircraft Library from the main menu, or click Learn about your aircraft beside the aircraft reported by your simulator.

• Find the aircraft you have loaded, or search by aircraft name, type code or developer.
• Browse aircraft stories, pilot accounts and cockpit videos.
• Follow links to manuals, developer documentation and original sources.
• Choose your simulator and developer’s edition to find the relevant references.
• Read in light or dark mode, with adjustable text size.

The library is included in the free app. Available material varies by aircraft, and you can select the correct reference or simulator edition when automatic matching needs help.

MOZA AY90 support

With an AY90 now available for direct testing, this release adds model-specific identification and support based on the actual hardware.

The AY90 is identified separately from the AY210 and supports trim input compensation and Autopilot Follow. Supported device settings are captured when Bridge takes control and restored when the session ends.

Better trim and aircraft feel

• Expanded MSFS 2024 trim compensation: supported MOZA yokes now use a bundled catalogue covering 48 default aircraft families and 101 exact variants. Matching is automatic, without a calibration flight or online lookup.
• Optional Airbus AP neutral hold: a fly-by-wire profile can hold the stick at centre while the autopilot is engaged, instead of using moving-control AP Follow. This uses a centring spring and does not disconnect the simulator’s autopilot.
• Helicopter hydraulic-loss loading at low speed: where supported aircraft telemetry reports hydraulic loss, resistance can now be felt on the ground and in hover, including while Force Trim Release is held.
• MOZA AB6 Force Trim Release fix: holding FTR now disengages the firmware follow hold immediately; releasing it captures the new position before re-engaging.
• Propwash loading: available airflow or engine data can increase elevator resistance at low airspeed.
• Smoother spoiler buffet and corrected saving when enabling AP Follow from zero authority.

For pilots who also use X-Plane, this release adds native trim integration for eligible aircraft using the standard trim system in X-Plane 12.2 and later. Hydraulic-loss feedback still requires supported aircraft telemetry; X-Plane hydraulic-integrity mapping is not included in this release.

Hardware and reliability fixes

• Windows MOZA detection: the device picker now recognises supported bases that Windows DirectInput omits, fixing cases where a working base appeared disconnected.
• More complete MOZA settings management: Bridge now handles additional retained Cockpit settings, including supported dynamic-effect controls and force curves, with restoration on exit.
• Controller-button Arm / Disarm: choose a single press or one-second hold to arm, with a single press to disarm.
• Improved Flight Check: better effect timing, clearer direction-test results and movement tests that better accommodate geared sticks.
• macOS improvements: MOZA device discovery, shutdown handling and AY210 effect handling across repeated Disarm/Arm cycles.
• Simulator diagnostics: separate MSFS 2020/2024 connection checks, clearer update-check errors and improved X-Plane telemetry handling.

Updated documentation — and two new languages

The website, documentation and manuals have been updated for this release.

As an homage to my roots, the website and docs are now available in Hindi and Bengali.
