Connaître l'avion

The Phenom 100 is the EMB-500 light business jet. The NTSB’s description of the original model identifies two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW617F-E engines and a Garmin-based automatic-flight installation. Its cockpit includes a stall-warning and protection system with AoA sensors, a warning computer and an actuator connected to the elevator control system.

The protection system provides aural warning, low-speed awareness indications and a stick-pusher action. Its thresholds change with the aircraft’s ice-protection configuration.

The NTSB report separates the aural warning and airspeed-display cues from the actuator that pushes the column forward. It also explains that ice-protection selection changes the warning/protection schedule. These are configuration-dependent aircraft systems.

Original EMB-500 N100EQ as documented by the NTSB; not later Phenom 100EV/EX.

The Phenom 100 gains its original approval

ANAC presented the Embraer 500 type certificate on 9 December 2008. The Phenom 100's review had begun in 2005 under the former Brazilian authority before continuing at ANAC. The regulator describes a programme involving more than 700 documents, inspections and tests. This establishes the original aircraft generation, before the later EV and EX developments and their revised systems.

About the values

Strengths are normalized hardware-feel settings. They set the effect balance; hand force depends on the device and its limits. The IAS reference is a tuning value.

Master gain & control system

Master gain85%

Pourquoi ici : Scales overall profile strength while preserving effect balance, subject to device and output limits.

Forces

Spring strength74%

Pourquoi ici : This profile uses reversible-control loading for Embraer Phenom 100. The baseline spring is 0.74. Its low-speed blend reaches baseline strength at 105 KIAS.

Overall aerodynamic load80%

Pourquoi ici : The aerodynamic-load gain is 0.8 with an indicated-speed reference of 210 KIAS. This supplies speed-dependent loading alongside the spring.

Max output force55%

Pourquoi ici : Caps directed-force output. Native spring effects and device limits remain separate.

Elevator load100%

Pourquoi ici : Scales pitch aerodynamic loading; pitch spring travel and trim responses are separate settings.

Aileron load75%

Pourquoi ici : Roll and pitch aerodynamic scales are 0.75 and 1, respectively. They set the aerodynamic axis balance. No custom spring-travel curve is enabled.

Pourquoi ici : Sets the IAS reference for aerodynamic loading. It is an estimate, not published cruise TAS or a flight limit.

Spring engagement start29.4 kt

Pourquoi ici : Sets the IAS where the low-speed spring blend starts rising. This is a feel threshold, not a flight limit.

Spring engagement full105.0 kt

Pourquoi ici : Sets the IAS where the low-speed blend reaches baseline strength; high-speed stiffening also uses it.

Spring deadband4%

Pourquoi ici : Sets travel around the centre before the baseline spring resists. Smaller values engage it sooner.

Airspeed blendingTrue

Pourquoi ici : Allows baseline spring strength to rise with indicated airspeed where the control law permits it.

Low-speed spring floor55%

Pourquoi ici : Sets low-speed spring strength as a fraction of baseline when blending is enabled. One keeps full strength.

Centre firmness vs speed15%

Pourquoi ici : The high-speed spring-stiffening gain is 0.15. It strengthens the permitted spring response above 105 KIAS, with the squared-speed ratio capped at 5.

Centre stiffening cap5

Pourquoi ici : Limits the squared airspeed ratio used for high-speed spring stiffening; it is not a device-force cap.

Trim

Trim relief (elevator)30%

Pourquoi ici : The profile uses the trim behaviour configured below. Pitch relief is off, with stored authority 0.3; roll authority is 0.

Trim relief (aileron)0%

Pourquoi ici : Scales supported roll-trim relief and permitted centre movement. Zero removes roll response.

Effect gains · Ground

Runway rumble40%

Pourquoi ici : Sets rolling texture strength, modified by speed, surface and undercarriage configuration.

Gear bumps25%

Pourquoi ici : Sets gear-bump texture during ground motion, separate from touchdown impact.

Effect gains · Airframe

Stall buffet35%

Pourquoi ici : Sets stall-buffet strength. Zero removes the cue without changing simulator stalls or warnings.

Mach buffet0%

Pourquoi ici : Sets high-Mach buffet strength; onset and full-strength thresholds are separate.

Flap buffet0%

Pourquoi ici : Sets flap buffet at the configured position and speed gates. Flap movement texture is separate.

Gear buffet0%

Pourquoi ici : Sets gear aerodynamic buffet; movement and ground-contact cues are separate.

Stick shaker50%

Pourquoi ici : Sets triggered shaker strength; inactive while the shaker feature is disabled.

Effect gains · Engine, mechanical & drag

Flap motion0%

Pourquoi ici : Sets texture from observed flap movement; a command without movement does not establish the cue.

Engine rumble0%

Pourquoi ici : Sets estimated engine vibration using configured telemetry and response, not measured cockpit vibration.

Touchdown thump65%

Pourquoi ici : Sets landing-impact strength; landing telemetry and response shape determine the pulse.

Reverse rumble0%

Pourquoi ici : Sets reverse-thrust vibration with valid reverser and engine conditions. Zero removes the cue.

Stick drop

Stick drop fade63

Pourquoi ici : A stored parameter in this profile. Its effect depends on the associated feature and control law; it is not a measured aircraft force.

Autopilot follow

AP follow authority10%

Pourquoi ici : Sets admitted AP-follow gain, not a percentage of travel. Runtime ownership and input limits still apply.

Stick feel

Deadband narrowing speed105.0 kt

Plus : a more gradual build to a later peak.

Moins : a quicker build.

Pourquoi ici : A stored parameter in this profile. Its effect depends on the associated feature and control law; it is not a measured aircraft force.
