Unsure Forces - Looking for clarification

Hello FFB Bridge Team and Community,

I recently found out about this and really enjoy the variety this adds to my Moza AB6. I have two things I am unsure about how I fix, or if it is right.

1. In a C172, a get what almost feels like a crunch at the extremes of the each axis. I assume this is replicating hard limit at the end of a full throw. However I can't seem to figure out setting controls this. The reason I think it is a setting is that its not there when I am not in the plane in the sim with the same profile loaded. I can also imagine this is a real thing in something like a C172, but it feels a tad sharp if it is (to me any way).

2. The other thing is I am getting oscillation when loading into the sim. It seems to bounce between spring force and the natural fall of the yoke when parked. I am sure I am misunderstanding something rather than this being an issue.

But I keen to understand where I should be looking for these tuning settings.

The AB6 still has some work left on it. I don't have an AB6, and there's a few things that I need to test on the actual device. So for now, I would say please wait a while. I have an AB6 that is supposed to be arriving soon, after which I should be able to work on it and make it better. So my answers below may change once I have the stick to test.

That being said, for your questions:

1. The firm edge at full travel

That is Control edge, in Tuning → Stick feel. Turn on Advanced controls and two sliders appear there:

Control-edge trigger: how far you move before the boost starts. The C172 profile has this at 85%. Control-edge gain: how strong the boost is. The C172 profile has this at 20%.

It adds extra centering force over the last stretch of travel to discourage banging the stops. Between 85% and 100% of deflection it ramps linearly from nothing up to the gain figure. Because all of that happens in the final 15% of travel, the gradient over that stretch is a good deal steeper than the main centering spring, and that step change in slope is what reads as a distinct edge.

It vanishes when you are not in an aircraft because it is driven by the elevator and aileron positions the simulator reports.

To soften it, lower Control-edge gain; 0% turns it off completely. If you want to keep some edge but make the onset gentler, lower Control-edge trigger as well, which spreads the same boost over more travel. Raising the trigger does the opposite and makes it sharper, so that is the one to leave alone.

Also, Tuning → Aircraft control feel has Pitch stop strength and Roll stop strength, which build a progressive wall near full travel. They ship at zero and are silent unless something set them, but check in case you adjusted these.

2. Do you mean you are seeing movement BEFORE you load into the sim? like while it's loading? or after you press ready to fly?

Thanks for this. Sorry for the delayed reply, work.

I thought it would have something to do with the Control Edge Gain and Trigger. Interestingly, with those at 0 I still get the "grind" resistance feeling. It is much stronger on the roll. To describe it, its like a bouncing jitter.

Altering the Pitch and Roll Stop from both at 85 to 0 has no noticeable effect.

In terms of the movement while loading into the sim. If I have armed it before loading into a flight, the drop of the elevators and the spring tend to fight as the flight loads in creating an emergency disarm. After some playing around with settings it appears to be getting the right balance between the Edge Control settings and the Stick Drop settings.

This is fixed in the latest dev build. I’ll look into the other issue. Thanks for the feedback.
