Automation is not an autopilot

The developer describes automated systems that help manage these unusual vehicles but states that version 1.x has no autopilot. Extreme-envelope operation also depends on the simulator’s behavior. Published concept capabilities should therefore be read as properties of these virtual designs, not demonstrated aerospace performance.

X-Plane 12VSKYLABS

Skyscenders 76 contains three fictional VSKYLABS aircraft for exploring X-Plane's terrain, weather and flight physics: the jet-and-rocket Spherescram, jet-powered VTOL MachBully and twin-turboprop VTOL Haboob-X.

This profile selects VSKYLABS Skyscenders76 Haboob-X for X-Plane 12.

The profile supplies the selected concept vehicle’s control resistance. The spring stays independent of airspeed. Directed aerodynamic loading is omitted.

Configured trim is part of the simulator’s concept-control arrangement. Aircraft trim retains the fixed hardware centre. Autopilot following is off.

Controls and trim

The Skyscenders programme contains developer-designed Spherescram jet/rocket, MachBully VTOL and Haboob-X turboprop VTOL configurations. Automated systems and the documented 1.x lack of autopilot belong to those hypothetical vehicles.

About the values

The gains are normalized profile settings. They describe the chosen effect balance; hand force depends on the device and its output limits. IAS references are tuning values rather than operating limits. Physical acceptance of this revision remains pending.

Master gain & control system

Master gain80%

Warum hier: Scales overall profile strength while preserving effect balance, subject to device and output limits.

Forces

Spring strength23%

Warum hier: The profile supplies the selected concept vehicle’s control resistance. The baseline spring is 0.23. The electronic-control law keeps centering independent of airspeed.

Selected official-page observation, three fictionalXP12 aircraft
Spring deadband4%

Warum hier: The spring deadband is 0.04. It defines the central interval before added centering resistance builds; the centre preload is 0.

Overall aerodynamic load0%

Warum hier: The stored 0 aerodynamic-load gain is inactive under the fixed-centre control law.

Airspeed blendingFalse

Warum hier: Allows baseline spring strength to rise with indicated airspeed where the control law permits it.

Low-speed spring floor55%

Warum hier: Sets low-speed spring strength as a fraction of baseline when blending is enabled. One keeps full strength.

Spring engagement start8 kt

Warum hier: Sets the IAS where the low-speed spring blend starts rising. This is a feel threshold, not a flight limit.

Spring engagement full65 kt

Warum hier: Sets the IAS where the low-speed blend reaches baseline strength; high-speed stiffening also uses it.

Warum hier: Sets the IAS reference for aerodynamic loading. It is an estimate, not published cruise TAS or a flight limit.

Centre firmness vs speed0%

Warum hier: Adds permitted spring resistance above the full-blend speed. Zero removes this high-speed increase.

Centre stiffening cap2

Warum hier: Limits the squared airspeed ratio used for high-speed spring stiffening; it is not a device-force cap.

Aileron load95%

Weniger: leichtere, quirligere Querruder.

Warum hier: Roll and pitch aerodynamic scales are 0.95 and 1, respectively. These stored weights do not create directed aerodynamic loading while that term is inactive. No custom spring-travel curve is enabled.

Elevator load100%

Warum hier: Scales pitch aerodynamic loading; pitch spring travel and trim responses are separate settings.

Max output force55%

Warum hier: Caps directed-force output. Native spring effects and device limits remain separate.

Trim

Trim relief (elevator)0%

Warum hier: Configured trim is part of the simulator’s concept-control arrangement. Pitch relief is off, with stored authority 0; roll authority is 0.

Selected official-page observation, three fictionalXP12 aircraft
Trim relief (aileron)0%

Weniger: Rolltrimmung bewirkt weniger.

Warum hier: Scales supported roll-trim relief and permitted centre movement. Zero removes roll response.

Effect gains · Ground

Runway rumble0%

Rollende Untergrundvibration aus Radgeschwindigkeit und Oberflächenart: die Textur von Asphalt, Gras oder Schotter unter dem Fahrwerk.

Mehr: lautere Oberflächentextur durch den Stick.

Weniger: ruhigeres Rollen.

Warum hier: Sets rolling texture strength, modified by speed, surface and undercarriage configuration.

Gear bumps0%

Weniger: weichere Bodendetails.

Warum hier: Sets gear-bump texture during ground motion, separate from touchdown impact.

Effect gains · Airframe

Stall buffet0%

Warum hier: Sets stall-buffet strength. Zero removes the cue without changing simulator stalls or warnings.

Mach buffet0%

Warum hier: Sets high-Mach buffet strength; onset and full-strength thresholds are separate.

Flap buffet0%

Weniger: ruhigere Anflugklappen.

Warum hier: Sets flap buffet at the configured position and speed gates. Flap movement texture is separate.

Gear buffet0%

Warum hier: Sets gear aerodynamic buffet; movement and ground-contact cues are separate.

Stick shaker50%

Warum hier: Sets triggered shaker strength; inactive while the shaker feature is disabled.

Effect gains · Engine, mechanical & drag

Touchdown thump32%

Warum hier: Sets landing-impact strength; landing telemetry and response shape determine the pulse.

Reverse rumble0%

Ausrollvibration bei Schubumkehr oder Beta-Verstellung. Null für Muster ohne Umkehr.

Mehr: ein rauerer Ausrollvorgang unter Umkehrschub.

Weniger: leisere Umkehr.

Warum hier: Sets reverse-thrust vibration with valid reverser and engine conditions. Zero removes the cue.

Engine rumble0%

Warum hier: Sets estimated engine vibration using configured telemetry and response, not measured cockpit vibration.

Flap motion0%

Warum hier: Sets texture from observed flap movement; a command without movement does not establish the cue.

Autopilot follow

AP follow authority10%

Warum hier: Sets admitted AP-follow gain, not a percentage of travel. Runtime ownership and input limits still apply.
