Mareček wanted more than a brief checkout before judging the Shark. His time with it included fast journeys, slow photographic flying and varied weather, as well as rides shared with other pilots. He found the aircraft enjoyable across that range, with low-speed handling easing his initial concern about keeping company with a slower camera aircraft.
Living with it also revealed details a short flight might miss. He appreciated the illuminated mechanical landing-gear indicators when returning at dusk, but criticised the canopy-lock arrangement and some control conventions. His affection survived those reservations. The report presents an aircraft that had become an experience in its own right for him, while remaining specific about things he wanted improved.
Pruša planned a north-to-south flight to use the summer daylight, with an additional fuel tank occupying the rear seat. Friends and airport staff helped prepare the aircraft and organise the departure. Once airborne, the midnight sun behind him and the darker sky ahead made the passage south a striking personal experience.
The long flight brought repeated calculations about distance, weather and remaining fuel. Messages from friends provided company, while deteriorating conditions later required changes along the route. At Brač, a musical welcome surprised him after landing, and a swim in the Adriatic followed soon afterwards. His account reports a 3,189-kilometre journey while clearly distinguishing the attempt from a formally recognised world record.
Rutherford described a journey repeatedly reshaped by weather and changing entry rules. An unexpected diversion in Indonesia left her unable to leave a small airport’s property, sleeping in the terminal. The discomfort was tempered by helpful people and good food, making their kindness part of the memory of the flight.
Arriving in Singapore also required patience while thunderstorms complicated the approach. In the interview, she placed the journey within a wider ambition to encourage young women to pursue aviation and technical subjects. Family members helped with logistics, and rest days included university applications. The Shark’s long journey was therefore also a gap-year adventure, supported by people at home and strangers along the way.

This profile selects Aerobask Shark UL for X-Plane 12.
The selected response supplies light-aircraft stick loading. Spring resistance builds with the selected airspeed response. A separate aerodynamic term adds speed-dependent control load.
Configured trim response is separate from gear/flap protection logic. Pitch-trim relief is off. Autopilot following is off.
The Shark is a tandem ultralight with retractable-gear and flap protections. Its optional SkyView/SV-AP and navigation equipment have their own implementation limits, independent of the underlying control linkage.
Aerobask’s tandem Shark has retractable gear and flap/gear protections with a custom SkyView/SV-AP panel.
The gains are normalized profile settings. They describe the chosen effect balance; hand force depends on the device and its output limits. IAS references are tuning values rather than operating limits. Physical acceptance of this revision remains pending.
Pourquoi ici : Scales overall profile strength while preserving effect balance, subject to device and output limits.
Pourquoi ici : The selected response supplies light-aircraft stick loading. The baseline spring is 0.74. Its low-speed blend reaches baseline strength at 62.5 KIAS.
Pourquoi ici : Sets travel around the centre before the baseline spring resists. Smaller values engage it sooner.
Pourquoi ici : The aerodynamic-load gain is 0.8 with an indicated-speed reference of 125 KIAS. This supplies speed-dependent loading alongside the spring.
Pourquoi ici : Allows baseline spring strength to rise with indicated airspeed where the control law permits it.
Pourquoi ici : Sets low-speed spring strength as a fraction of baseline when blending is enabled. One keeps full strength.
Pourquoi ici : Sets the IAS where the low-speed spring blend starts rising. This is a feel threshold, not a flight limit.
Pourquoi ici : Sets the IAS where the low-speed blend reaches baseline strength; high-speed stiffening also uses it.
Pourquoi ici : Sets the IAS reference for aerodynamic loading. It is an estimate, not published cruise TAS or a flight limit.
Pourquoi ici : The high-speed spring-stiffening gain is 0.15. It strengthens the permitted spring response above 62.5 KIAS, with the squared-speed ratio capped at 5.
Pourquoi ici : Limits the squared airspeed ratio used for high-speed spring stiffening; it is not a device-force cap.
Pourquoi ici : Roll and pitch aerodynamic scales are 0.72 and 1, respectively. They set the aerodynamic axis balance. No custom spring-travel curve is enabled.
Pourquoi ici : Scales pitch aerodynamic loading; pitch spring travel and trim responses are separate settings.
Pourquoi ici : Caps directed-force output. Native spring effects and device limits remain separate.
Pourquoi ici : Configured trim response is separate from gear/flap protection logic. Pitch relief is off, with stored authority 0; roll authority is 0.
Pourquoi ici : Scales supported roll-trim relief and permitted centre movement. Zero removes roll response.
Pourquoi ici : Sets rolling texture strength, modified by speed, surface and undercarriage configuration.
Pourquoi ici : Sets gear-bump texture during ground motion, separate from touchdown impact.
Pourquoi ici : Sets stall-buffet strength. Zero removes the cue without changing simulator stalls or warnings.
Pourquoi ici : Sets high-Mach buffet strength; onset and full-strength thresholds are separate.
Pourquoi ici : Sets flap buffet at the configured position and speed gates. Flap movement texture is separate.
Pourquoi ici : Sets gear aerodynamic buffet; movement and ground-contact cues are separate.
Pourquoi ici : Sets triggered shaker strength; inactive while the shaker feature is disabled.
Pourquoi ici : Sets landing-impact strength; landing telemetry and response shape determine the pulse.
Pourquoi ici : Sets reverse-thrust vibration with valid reverser and engine conditions. Zero removes the cue.
Pourquoi ici : Sets estimated engine vibration using configured telemetry and response, not measured cockpit vibration.
Pourquoi ici : Sets texture from observed flap movement; a command without movement does not establish the cue.
Pourquoi ici : Sets admitted AP-follow gain, not a percentage of travel. Runtime ownership and input limits still apply.

Where this effect reaches full strength (or has fully faded, for washouts).
Plus : a more gradual build to a later peak.
Moins : a quicker build.
Pourquoi ici : Sets the final flap index for detent normalization. UP plus three detents uses maximum index3.
Where this effect begins fading in.
Plus : the effect begins later.
Moins : it begins earlier.
Pourquoi ici : Sets the first flap detent that admits buffet; this is a handle index, not degrees.
